South Carolina football target Jordon Gidron is among the team's top targets in the class of 2026. The wide receiver from Columbia is one of the best prospects in the country, and he is the consensus top overall player in the Palmetto State in the '26 cycle.
A Ridge View High School product, Gidron recently named his top-12 schools, and, as expected, the Gamecocks made the cut. He also told 247Sports' Anna Adams that the South Carolina football coaching staff was one of three (along with the NC State Wolfpack and Auburn Tigers) who have done the best job in prioritizing him as a recruit. He even went as far as to tell Adams that USC stood out among those three programs.
On Tuesday, the rising junior announced that he was committing to play in the Under Armour All-American Game. The 2025 edition of the all-star showcase (which will be played in January), will be the first to allow juniors to participate, and Gidron is taking full advantage of the opportunity.
Gidron has the physical makeup to make an impression at the Under Armour All-American Game and practice. At 6'2" with good speed and leaping ability, he will be able to make plays, even against the top competition in the country.
The Gamecocks have had plenty of Under Armour All-American Game selections over the years, including seven players from the class of 2024 (offensive tackle Kam Pringle, wide receiver Debron Gatling, EDGE Dylan Stewart, tight end Michael Smith, cornerback Jalewis Solomon, quarterback Dante Reno, and kicker/punter Mason Love).
Gidron will not be the final high school All-American from South Carolina in the class of 2026. The talent pool seems to be moving toward a "high" in-state, and several of the Palmetto State prospects will receive national accolades like Gidron.
