The South Carolina Gamecocks men's basketball program has begun to fill out its 2026-27 regular season. In recent days, the Gamecocks' full SEC home and away schedule has been revealed, as well as a non-conference opponent set for December in Maryland.Â
The Gamecocks will also be one of several teams participating in the 2026 Acrisure Series, which will take place in Palm Springs, Calif. From Nov. 21-26. According to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein, South Carolina will take on both USC and Arizona State in the first pod. Other teams within the bracket include LSU, SMU and Utah State.Â

The full list of teams attending the tournament in California has not yet been announced, but Washington State-Duke will be a matchup set for Nov. 21. As for the other teams in South Carolina's pod, the Gamecocks will once again look to prove they are the "real" USC. The women's basketball program took on the Trojans twice last season, both in the regular season and NCAA Tournament. The Gamecocks won both meetings.Â
As for Arizona State, the Gamecocks have played the Sun Devils just one other time in school history. Elsewhere in the pod, South Carolina can get some scouting for LSU, as the Tigers will be led by returning head coach Will Wade. The Gamecocks will also face LSU to open their SEC regular season on Saturday, Jan. 2.Â
Obviously November will be quite early during the 2026-27 college basketball season, as teams across the country will be looking to find their grooves and identities. But for South Carolina following a 13-19 season last year, head coach Lamont Paris can use all the experience his team can get. Travelling to tournaments like this one and playing against quality opponents is a great way to do just that.Â
More information on South Carolina's full non-conference schedule is expected to be made known as the 2026-27 regular season gets closer. The Acrisure Tournament has been around since 2023, but this will be South Carolina's first trip to the tournament.Â
