The South Carolina Gamecocks men's basketball team is looking to reload during its upcoming 2026-27 season. Following a 13-19 season in Columbia, fifth-year head coach Lamont Paris knows that he needs to improve.
Well, the Gamecocks have a much better idea of how their SEC schedule will shake out, as the SEC revealed full dates for the 2026-27 season. South Carolina's SEC schedule will begin on Saturday, Jan. 2 as the Gamecocks will go on the road to face LSU in Baton Rouge. South Carolina's SEC regular season will close on Saturday March 6, with another road game against the Georgia Bulldogs. The full Saturday SEC schedule of games was released by the conference on Monday.
As for the rest of South Carolina's midweek games, the conference is using a Tuesday OR Wednesday designation for those. As you can see, they feature some tough opponents, including games against Texas A&M, Missouri, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida and Ole Miss.
The exact dates and times will be released as the season gets closer. Here's a look at South Carolina's full 2026 SEC schedule:

The 2027 SEC Tournament is set for March 10-14 in Nashville. South Carolina missed out on the postseason entirely last season, although 10 SEC teams made the NCAA Tournament. The Gamecocks will be looking to make the Big Dance NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2024. They will also be looking to improve from the 4-14 mark in SEC play a season ago.
South Carolina is rebuilding with several new faces landed via the transfer portal and international players. From the portal, head coach Lamont Paris added guys like Aleksas Bieliauskas from Wisconsin, former Drexel guard Shane Blakeney, former Texas forward Camden Heide and Alabama addition Davion Hannah.
South Carolina also went overseas for three prospects, including Juan Fernandez from Argentina, Hugo Lopez from Spain and Mathais Vazquez from Brazil.
