In a criminally overlooked X post, @dsalley24 (David Salley) took a hilarious jab at Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik's comments in an On3 interview, where Klubnik praised a select group of quarterbacks for staying loyal to their programs amid the chaos of the transfer portal era. Among those mentioned were Arch Manning, Garrett Nussmeier, Drew Allar, and...wait for it...Ty Simpson.
TY SIMPSON?
In Salley's post, he called out the baffling and obvious omission of a well-known and very loyal QB: LaNorris Sellers. Salley wrote, "Mentioning TY SIMPSON to avoid saying LaNorris Sellers is actually hilarious." The tweet also featured a very fired-up image of Seller mid-celebration. Oh wait, that is the shot taken after Sellers ran the ball into the end zone in the win against Clemson just last season, 17-14.

The post makes it crystal clear who should have been front and center in this conversation about staying loyal in the portal era. Because while Sellers led South Carolina as QB1 last season, Ty Simpson barely sniffed the field for Alabama. The fact that Sellers, a rising star who reportedly turned down $8 million to stay in Columbia, didn't get a mention has Gamecock Nation rolling their eyes and laughing at the audacity.
Sellers is everything this new era of football wants physically. The loyalty comes free.
Whether it was a slip of strategic erasure, one thing is for certain, the Tigers' QB1 seems to be dodging something major just south of Clemson, and the season hasn't even started. Sellers may not have had his name mentioned, but his plays will do all the talking anyway.
