The South Carolina Gamecocks are capping off a successful spring season, and there is some buzz surrounding Columbia. Although the Gamecocks have to navigate a tough schedule in 2026, South Carolina is expected to massively improve following a 4-8 season last year.

A big reason for that is South Carolina's transfer-portal haul from this offseason. The class already ranked as one of ESPN's top classes for 2026, and 247Sports just dropped its final prospect rankings from the cycle.

South Carolina transfer product in offensive tackle Jacarrius Peak checked inside the final Top-10, ranking No. 6 overall. The outlet rated Peak as a five-star prospect, and the second-highest ranked tackle in the class, behind LSU transfer Jordan Seaton.

The ranking is no surprise. Peak spent the first three seasons of his career at NC State, playing in 38 games, and making 13 starts for the Wolfpack last year. He earned first-team All-ACC honors as a left tackle, and finished as the second-highest ranked pass blocker.

He comes at just the right time for quarterback LaNorris Seller, who was sacked a whopping 43 times last season. Sellers is expected to have a big rebound season in Columbia, and with the right protection he could do just that. The Gamecocks return his star receiver Nyck Harbor from last season, as well as running back Matt Fuller.

As for the rest of South Carolina's transfer-portal products, several of them were included in 247Sports' final rankings. Here's where they all ended up:

  • DL Tomiwa Durojaiye via Illinois: No. 114 overall
  • OL Emmanual Poku via ECU: No. 115 overall
  • EDGE rusher Caleb Herring via Tennessee: No. 247 overall

Although Peak was limited in spring practices due to a knee injury he suffered during a pickup basketball game, the expectations are for him to be full-go come fall camp later this summer.
