On Saturday afternoon, the South Carolina Gamecocks will be looking to get back on track against the Kentucky Wildcats at home. Although South Carolina has dropped the last two straight games in SEC play, the Gamecocks opened as slight home favorites against the Wildcats in Williams-Brice Stadium.
Although the game is still a few days out, the early forecasts are calling for some rain in and around Columbia for Saturday. According to Accuweather, there is a 55% chance of rain, describing the outlook as "humid with intervals of clouds and sun; widely separated afternoon thunderstorms."
The Weather Channel forecasts the rain chance to be even higher, describing the outlook as "Thunderstorms likely. High 83F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 90%."
South Carolina has had to deal with weather before. During the Gamecocks' Week 2 game against Towson, the game was delayed nearly an hour due to rain and lightning in the area. Gamecock offensive coordinator Kendal Briles was asked if the game plan changes offensively at all for the Gamecocks with a forecast like that.
While he told reporters he was not aware it was supposed to rain on Saturday, he isn't too worried about the offense dealing with some elements.

"Well, we've seen it before," Briles said via Gamecocks247. "Towson, I don't think I've ever seen anything like that. It doesn't change what we're doing. Offensively, if you get into the game and it's a wet game, obviously you got to be smart about how you're calling things and that's with both sides of the ball."
If there is a good amount of rain, South Carolina could perhaps run the ball a bit more. Last week against Alabama, the Gamecocks finished with 216 yards on the ground, but only had two touchdowns in the 49-18 loss.
