The South Carolina Gamecocks are searching for their first SEC victory, set to take on a Kentucky Wildcats team that's 1-1 in conference play.

This is a massive opportunity for Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer, who's time might be running out in Columbia.

Here's everything you need to know about Saturday afternoon's matchup.

All-time series

The Gamecocks hold a 22-13-1 all-time lead in the series against the Wildcats, including having won the last four straight dating back to 2022.

Injury snapshot

Based on Friday evening update at 7:10 p.m. CT

Kentucky will be without several players, including receiver DJ Miller linebackers Alex Afari Jr. and Tavion Wallace, defensive back Grant Grayton, longsnapper #40 Cole Marszale and offensive linemen Aba Selm and Jay Clark.

South Carolina will be without linebacker A.J. Holloway, EDGE rusher Kobby Sakyi-Prah and offensive lineman Josiah Thompson. Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy is still listed as questionable, but head Beamer said earlier this week that he is trending in the right direction.

Kentucky at South Carolina: Key storylines to watch

1. Can head coach Shane Beamer cool down his seat a little?

A big home win for Beamer would take some heat off of him—at least until next week's big road trip to play the Florida Gators. If this game gets out of hand early, expect chants of Fire Beamer to be louder than the ones we heard against Mississippi State.

2. Will South Carolina get things figured out offensively?

After blowout wins over Kent State and Towson, the Gamecocks haven't been able to replicate that success. The Gamecocks' offense has been riddled by stalled drives, turnovers and poor execution. There is so much talent on this roster from LaNorris Sellers to Nyck Harbor and Matt Fuller, it should be much better. If the unit wants to turn things around, the game to do it is this one.

3. Can Kentucky get another big SEC road victory?

Kentucky has played well on the road in the SEC before, upsetting Texas A&M in College Station just two weeks ago. A second big road trip over the Gamecocks, even though South Carolina is favored, would make one heck of a start to Will Stein's first season in Lexington.
