South Carolina football continues to offer some top talent across the country, as the team sees to build an unstoppable roster for upcoming seasons. The latest name on the radar for the Gamecocks is a towering 6-foot-5, 325-pound freshman from Portsmouth, Virginia. Major Green is a massive lineman who currently plays for I.C. Norcom High School. Green earned an offer from South Carolina after an impressive showing at the Gamecocks' prospect camp. His physicality, strength, and athleticism were too strong to ignore. However, Green does not have a recruiting ranking because he still has three hours left of high school.
As an offensive lineman, Green is lined up to primarily play at left tackle. He has room to grow with defining his technique, but all the tools are there. He has impressive defensive tackle film. Green has the ability to blow up virtually every run play that comes across him. And when giving the opportunity, he likes to go for the big hits, which showcases his aggressive and physical style of play. And he moves impressively well for a player his size.
According to Chris Clark of GamecockCentral, Green had a standout performance during the Gamecocks' camp, especially during the one-on-ones. He showed impressive strength in battles against Success Nwabude, who is a 2027 EDGE that South Carolina also offered on Thursday. The competition between these two rising stars showcased Green's ability to handle speed and strength at a higher level.
As a freshman, Green has already earned All-Region honors, which is a major nod at his impact on the field.
