One day removed from the South Carolina women's basketball team announcing its SEC conference schedule, the men's team on Thursday afternoon followed suit. Just like their WBB counterpart, the MBB team will begin its SEC conference slate in January 2026 after playing its non-conference games in the 2025 portion of the 2025-26 season.

After the 2024-25 season, where they went 12-20 overall and 2-16 in conference play, the Gamecocks MBB looks to bounce back from a disappointing season. While they were a cumulative 10-8 at home while in the confines of Colonial Life Arena, the Gamecocks were 1-10 on the road and 1-2 on neutral sites.

The MBB team kicks off its SEC slate of games on January 3 at home against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Unlike their WBB counterparts, who will only face one SEC team twice (Alabama), the MBB team will face the Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, and the LSU Tigers twice in home-and-home sets. They will take on the Tigers on January 6th or 7th in Baton Rouge before hosting the Tigers at Colonial Life Arena on January 31.

Following that, the Gamecocks will face the Bulldogs at home on January 10, before heading down to Athens for a road test on February 28. What a way to cap off February before the start of March with the SEC Tournament right around the corner. When facing the Gators, they will be at home on January 27th or 28th before they travel to Gainsville on February 17th or 18th.

The Gamecocks MBB will cap off their season and SEC play on the road against Ole Miss on March 7. in Oxford. It'll be an interesting 2025-26 season overall for the Gamecocks will want to right the ship following a disappointing 2024-25 season. The SEC is always a tough conference to play in for any sport. However, it's a new season and anything can happen. As long as they get further than Round 1 of the SEC Tournament and a .500 SEC conference record, it will be a successful season for the Gamecocks.
