South Carolina baseball received some much-needed good news this week as infielder Beau Hollins announced that he will be returning for the 2026 season with the Gamecocks. Hollins confirmed his decision to On3's Jack Veltri, stating, "I'm here to stay for the next year. I want to be part of turning this thing around."
The rising sophomore made a strong impression in a backup role as a true freshman, appearing in 46 games, racking up 49 hits, including nine doubles, a triple, and six home runs, while driving 24 runs.
Hollins becomes the latest Gamecock to announce his return, along with Talmadge LeCroy and KJ Scobey as part of the returning core from a team that struggled greatly in its first season under head coach Paul Mainieri. South Carolina not only had one of their worst seasons in program history, but they also missed the NCAA Tournament for just the second time since 2019.
While the program is still waiting to hear decisions from star players like Ethan Petry (who likely will not be coming back), the return of Hollins will be key for rebuilding a South Carolina squad looking to revamp for the 2026 season.
