The Garnet and Black Spring Game may have not aired live this year, but Gamecock Nation is still getting an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look into Shane Beamer's squad. On Tuesday, June 17 at 7 p.m., the SEC Network will premiere "South Carolina Football: The Program," a thirty-minute all-access pass diving into the heart of Gamecock football.

During an April spring camp media session, Beamer said, "If all of you guys are recruits, it would probably be more impactful from a recruiting standpoint than watching a two-hour spring game on television."
The decision not to air the Spring Game came as part of a conference-wide choice. ESPN gave each SEC program one of two options: air the spring game live or create an original 30-minute show to air later on SEC Network. Only one school in the league opted to go live, Texas A&M.
This new approach isn't just about flashy editing or showcasing the team. With more relaxed transfer rules and the new regulations on NIL opportunities affecting roster movement, Beamer and other coaches have grown very cautious about exposing personnel matchups. The fear is that those matchups and plays could be studied or poached by opponents.
There still were quite a few fans that were disappointed that they couldn't watch the Spring Game on television, although they did have the opportunity to go to the game.
But now, the wait is over! "The Program" is a chance to see everything, the grit, the grind, and the Gamecock pride within the team and staff. Grab your popcorn! Beamer Ball broadcast hits SEC Network on Tuesday, June 17 at 7 PM ET.
