ESPN's Dan Orlovsky says South Carolina has just one thing to do to make the CFP

This weekend of college football could not have gone better for South Carolina.

South Carolina did exactly what they needed to do this week, and that beat Wofford and beat them convincingly. It was a little closer in the first half than most would have expected, but in the end, the Gamecocks got the 56-12 win over the Terriers.

the big difference between South Carolina and a lot of other SEC teams is that they won this weekend, and others did not. It was a weekend of chaos yet again as three SEC teams that were a part of that 8-2 lockup towards the top of the conference all lost, which made things very interesting for the College Football Playoff committee. The teams that lost included Alabama, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss.

Two out of those three teams did beat South Carolina earlier this season, but their losses and South Carolina losses are very different. Now, with one game left in the season, it all comes down to this and ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, a well-known football analyst and former college and NFL quarterback, believes the Gamecocks need to do just one thing in order to make it into the College Football Playoff.

South Carolina is set to take on Clemson in the final week of the regular season in what will be the annual Palmetto Bowl, and it could have some serious College Football Playoff implications.

In the most recent CFP rankings release, the Gamecocks were ranked No. 18, and the Tigers were ranked No. 17, just one spot apart, and with the amount of chaos ensuing, it just might be opening up a spot for one of these two teams to sneak into the playoff.

Last week, Orlovsky said that the Gamecocks were the one team that no one wants to play right now. They are currently on a five-game win streak in which they have beaten three ranked teams and are truly playing their best football right now. The Gamecocks may have three losses on the season, but each loss was to a highly ranked opponent and only one of them was truly a bad loss.

The Gamecocks await their fate for where they will rank this week and won't know until the rankings release show on Tuesday, November 26.
