It's time for Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks to start getting some more love. Thankfully, following a win over Vanderbilt in Week 11, the Gamecocks heard their names called on Tuesday night in the second College Football Playoff rankings show of the year.

The Gamecocks, per the CFP committee, are the No. 21 team in the nation, checking in above LSU, Missouri, Army and Tulane. South Carolina ahead of LSU and Brian Kelly? You better believe it, as the Tigers plummeted following the lopsided loss to Alabama.

With that said, not everyone thinks South Carolina was ranked in the right spot. If you ask ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky, there's no question in his mind that the Gamecocks should be a little bit higher than where they were announced:

South Carolina is the No. 21 team in the country per the new CFP rankings

It's hard not to argue with that. Some of the teams ahead of USC include Washington State, Kansas State, Clemson, Louisville and other squads who we think the Gamecocks would be able to take down. This weekend, a massive game is on the way for Beamer and his guys to send another statement.

That's because No. 23 Missouri (in the CFP) is next up on the schedule. With a win, South Carolina, fresh off a victory over Vanderbilt, will build an even stronger resume. With a loss, however, then it will be a big step backwards for Beamer and his guys.

Let's hope a win is posted in this one, as fans would love to see South Carolina ranked higher once next Tuesday night gets here. On both sides of this ball, the Gamecocks are displaying quality football. They'll be ready to have that be the case once again against Missouri in what should be a fun SEC matchup.
