The South Carolina Gamecocks are rebuilding after a disappointing season in Columbia, one that finished 4-8 on the year. Following Shane Beamer's worst year at South Carolina, the Gamecocks are fueling up for a bounce-back season, with a mix of veteran returning starters and newcomers that will turn things around in a big way.

One of those returning guys is sophomore wide receiver Jayden Sellers, who is the younger brother of starting quarterback LaNorris Sellers. Last season for the Gamecocks as a true freshman, he had 22 receptions for 337 yards with a touchdown against Coastal Carolina.

On Sunday, CBS Sports' Brad Crawford included the younger Sellers as one of his sophomores that will define the CFP race in 2026:

"Jayden averaged 15.3 yards per catch over 22 receptions in just five games last fall during his first year on campus," Crawford writes. "His 75-yard touchdown against Coastal Carolina in November was his arrival moment, and that confidence level was further enhanced this spring. Sellers and junior Mazeo Bennett will split reps at the slot during camp before the first-team designation is decided, but Sellers has more upside, it appears."

Sellers will join returning wide receiver Nyck Harbor as targets for the Gamecocks quarterback to throw to in 2026. The younger Sellers' touchdown against the Chanticleers last season was an incredible one. His brother found him in the flat and Sellers showed off tremendous speed up the left sideline and took it all the way to the house:

Coming out of high school in South Florence, Sellers was a three-star prospect, rated as the No. 23 overall prospect out of South Carolina.

The Gamecocks open the season on Sept. 5 at home against Kent State. You can bet both Sellers brothers will be fired up and ready.
