On Friday night, there will be eight former Gamecocks that South Carolina fans can watch play.
First up, the Atlanta Dream will take on the Seattle Storm at home. The Dream has South Carolina’s Allisha Gray, Te-Hina Paopao and rookie center Madina Okot. Seattle, meanwhile, has former Gamecock Zia Cooke on their roster.
Gray has been leading the Dream offensively this season, averaging 19.3 points per game with 3.1 rebounds per game and 2.3 assists. The rookie Okot has played in 27 games this season so far, averaging 6.3 points with 3.7 boards a game. Atlanta is off to a great start to the season, sitting at 17-10 and right behind the Indiana Fever in the Eastern Conference.
Seattle has struggled this season, with a 6-24 record, last in the West. Cooke is averaging 7.6 PPG with 1.8 boards per game.
Friday night’s game is set for a 7:30 p.m. tip off, and it will air live on Ion.
In the last game of Friday evening, some night owl fans can watch the Indiana Fever take on the Portland Fire on the road. Indiana has four South Carolina players on its roster, including Aliyah Boston, Ty Harris, Bree Hall and rookie Raven Johnson.
Boston, who was named a WNBA All-Star earlier this month, is averaging a career-high 17.1 points per game with another 8.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
