SEC Football Quarterback Power Rankings:
No. 9 Texas A&M’s Max Johnson

Conner Weigman was playing better than almost any other quarterback in the SEC before injuring his foot against Auburn. Now, Max Johnson is QB1 in College Station. Johnson is not like most backup quarterbacks, though. For his career, he has 44 touchdowns to just 8 interceptions between his playing days at LSU and Texas A&M.

Johnson has played well since taking over for Weigman, but he will have his toughest tests upcoming. The Aggies will play Alabama, travel to Tennessee, take on South Carolina, and then hit the road to Ole Miss. After this weekend’s game against ‘Bama, only one team in the SEC West will be without a conference loss, and A&M’s chances rest firmly on Johnson’s shoulders.

Le’Veon Moss, Rueben Owens, and Amari Daniels will provide plenty of support in the run game, but A&M will not be able to beat teams like Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss without a strong passing game.
