SEC Football Quarterback Power Rankings:
No. 2 Missouri’s Brady Cook

Anyone that has paid close attention to Missouri the last couple of years has known that Brady Cook was a good quarterback but that he was just missing “it” (whatever “it” is). Well, in 2023, despite being banged up for most of the offseason, Cook has found “it.”

Fans can know it’s a special year when ridiculous stats aren’t even the most impressive thing Cook has accomplished this season. Completing almost 75% of his passes for just under 1500 yards is absurd, but when one realizes that Cook has yet to turn the ball over this season and has led a mediocre Mizzou program to a 5-0 mark (including a win over media darling Kansas State), it makes what he’s done that much more impressive.

There were numerous college football analysts calling for Cook to lose his job this offseason, but the redshirt junior clearly had other plans. His 14 total touchdowns is just 6 off of his career high, and he still has seven regular season games remaining on the schedule.

Cook has been a revelation for the Tigers and, combined with former D-II running back Cody Schrader, the offense is better than it has been in years in CoMo. A huge game with LSU this Saturday will help determine if the first five games were just a hot start for Cook and the Tigers or if Mizzou is the real deal after all.
