Just a day after Dawn Staley’s South Carolina basketball team announced their own 2023-2024 SEC schedule with an extremely entertaining AI-generated video, Lamont Paris’ squad announced their own SEC schedule with a graphic depicting Gamecock junior guard Jacobi Wright.

While the Gamecock basketball squad already found out their 2023-2024 SEC opponents with an announcement in June, this announcement provided the exact dates of each of USC’s games once SEC play begins in January of 2024.

After a relatively soft out-of-conference schedule (highlighted by a rivalry game against Clemson, a neutral site game against Virginia Tech in Charlotte, and the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge matchup with Notre Dame in Columbia), the South Carolina basketball schedule picks up with a difficult SEC slate.

The entire 2023-2024 South Carolina basketball SEC schedule is listed below:

1/6/24 Mississippi State Bulldogs

1/9/24 @ Alabama Crimson Tide

1/13/24 @ Missouri Tigers

1/16/24 Georgia Bulldogs

1/20/24 @ Arkansas Razorbacks

1/23/24 Kentucky Wildcats

1/27/24 Missouri Tigers

1/30/24 @ Tennessee Volunteers

2/3/24 @ Georgia Bulldogs

2/6/24 Ole Miss Rebels

2/10/24 Vanderbilt Commodores

2/14/24 @ Auburn Tigers

2/17/24 LSU Tigers

2/24/24 @ Ole Miss Rebels

2/28/24 @ Texas A&M Aggies

3/2/24 Florida Gators

3/6/24 Tennessee Volunteers

3/9/24 @ Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Gamecocks will look to bounce back from a poor 2022-2023 season in which Lamont Paris’ team tied the program record for losses in a season with 21 defeats. While seemingly an uphill battle, the Gamecocks will be searching for their first winning SEC season since the 2019-2020 season under former head coach Frank Martin.

With a new-look roster loaded with 9 transfer portal additions and true freshman signees, USC will almost certainly be more competitive this season than they were last year.

The Gamecocks have not been to the NCAA Tournament since their magical run to the Final Four after the 2016-2017 season. That will need to change soon or the Lamont Paris era in Columbia will be a short one.

South Carolina basketball will open its season on November 6th with a home contest against the USC-Upstate Spartans at Colonial Life Arena.
