South Carolina football fans know their team is in line to have some really good quarterback play for the foreseeable future. Spencer Rattler is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks in the conference in 2023, and LaNorris Sellers is one of the best true freshmen in college football.

The roster also has former 4-stars Luke Doty, Tanner Bailey, and Colten Gauthier, and 4-star Dante Reno is committed in the 2024 recruiting class. Now, another blue chip signal caller is interested in joining the Gamecocks.

Deuce Knight is a consensus 4-star quarterback from George County High School in Lucedale, Mississippi. He is in potential 5-star territory based on On3’s rankings, as the 6’4″, 190-pound Knight is listed as the 28th overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

In recent days, he earned a scholarship offer from the South Carolina football staff, and the talented QB seems very excited about the offer. In a conversation with On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Knight called Carolina his “dream school” as he was born in Columbia and likes the direction of the program.

In that conversation, he also revealed to Fawcett his top-10 schools.

Knight listed South Carolina, Washington, Oregon, Texas A&M, Georgia, Auburn, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and TCU as his ten finalists.

While Knight is not set to graduate until 2025, this news is significant as quarterbacks often commit earlier than other position groups.

In the early goings of Knight’s recruitment, Ole Miss appeared to be the favorite and Tennessee was the other major suitor, but as he has risen up the recruiting rankings, Knight’s recruitment has become more and more open.

Knight is a dual-threat quarterback who is considered the top dual-threat nationally in the 2025 class. The impressive athlete has been clocked running around a 4.6 40-yard dash while also possessing a great throwing arm.

There is currently no timeline set for Knight’s decision.
