South Carolina Football: Does Collin Hill have a Legitimate Chance to be the Gamecocks’ Starting QB?

When opening weekend rolls around (whenever that may be), I expect Hilinski to take the first snap under center.  I just don’t see Hill being able to leapfrog the incumbent by September, even though he may have a leg up on the playbook.  That certainly doesn’t mean Hill won’t have a role.

As the Gamecocks saw last year, injuries happen and quarterback depth is vital.  Hill transferred to South Carolina with the intention of starting in his final season and proving that he can lead an offense in the SEC.  Time will tell if that ends up happening, but you can expect Hill to compete in every way possible.
