South Carolina Football – Free Agency Update (Pt. III)
By Jacob Elsey
Adams remains a free agent as we inch closer to the 2020 NFL season. Last year, the tight end played in only one game with the Houston Texans before being waived in December.
Adams was selected in the 2016 Draft by the Giants. The sixth-round pick played two seasons in New York, where he tallied 24 catches for a total of 214 yards and a touchdown. He was waived after the 2018 season. Adams was then picked up by the Texans, where he’s spent the majority of the last two years on the practice squad.
As a Gamecock, Adams played four seasons under Head Coach Steve Spurrier. He played in 37 games over his career, totaling 66 catches for 977 yards and seven scores. Adams earned All-SEC honors as a freshman, and was the team’s second-leading receiver as a senior (28/421/3). He would be the 184th pick in the 2016 Draft.
