Skai Moore

Skai Moore has been a surprisingly good player so far in his career at South Carolina. During the 2013 recruiting cycle, fans were chirping about having 2 of the top linebacker recruits in the country in Larenz Bryant and Matt Rolin. Matt Rolin spurned the Gamecocks late in the process, which forced the coaches to move quickly on Moore.

Moore was a 3-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite. He committed to South Carolina over offers from Rutgers, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt and others. It’s pretty safe to say that Moore would make Gamecock fans forget all about Matt Rolin by the end of 2013.

Moore made his collegiate debut against North Carolina, and immediately he opened the eyes of fans recording 7 tackles in the game including a sack. Moore impressed all season long collecting 56 tackles and 2 interceptions. Moore was named an All-SEC Freshman to cap off the year.

Last season Moore was the leading tackler for South Carolina recording 93 tackles including 1 sack. He also had 3 interceptions on the season. The Gamecocks will need Moore to continue that production this season at the MIKE linebacker position, and look to him to bring some stability and leadership to the position.
