Five Players to Watch

Frank Martin added three post players to the roster with the incoming recruiting class. The arrival of these players brought a lot more athleticism to the Gamecock roster. Chris Silva is the post player that highlighted the class. Ranked 136th overall in the 247Sports Composite, Silva brings a rare athleticism seen in post players. He can run the floor very well, and he plays well above the rim.

While Silva will not be counted on for immediate help scoring, he will be counted on for his defensive skills and his rebounding. Having a real shot blocking threat patrolling the post will only add to the Gamecock’s nightmarish defense that held opponents to just a 44.5 eFG% (ranked 21st in the nation).
