More from South Carolina Football

Our weekly “Inside the Numbers” series continues with a deeper dive into the game ahead and the numbers behind the series as we get set for South Carolina vs. Kentucky. Kentucky comes in at 3-1 and the Gamecocks are now 3-2; however, the only numbers that will matter after tomorrow’s game is the final score. Let’s take a look at the various numbers surrounding this particular game.

1 – number of SEC victories by Kentucky since the end of 2011, and the current SEC win streak as well for the Wildcats. Kentucky fans have been riding high this past week after their 17-7 win over Vanderbilt, saying “bring on South Carolina and Steve Spurrier!”

13 – number of wins by South Carolina against Kentucky in the past 14 seasons.

18 – the number of times Steve Spurrier has beaten Kentucky in his collegiate head coaching career (to just one loss).

4 – the number of players that were suspended earlier in the week by the Wildcats. Drew Barker, Dorian Baker, Tymere Dubose and Stanley Williams were each suspended for tomorrow’s game after an incident with an air-soft pistol led to the entire campus being locked down.

4 – also the number of wins the Wildcats had in 2012 and 2013 combined. They have three already this year and look pretty good in finishing with more than four this season.

0 – the number of points scored by Kentucky opponents in the first quarter this season, so far.

39 – the Wildcats have 39 players from the state of Kentucky on their roster.

3 – three Wildcats hail from South Carolina.
