At Texas, Clark battled back from a season-ending Achilles injury in 2024, returning to action in 2025 and making notable contributions. In eight games, he rushed for 236 yards and two touchdowns on 55 carries, while also catching four passes for 57 yards. His most eye-catching performance came in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl against Michigan, where he tallied 105 rushing yards and a touchdown, showcasing his physicality and playmaking ability.
Clark is a former four-star recruit as well as a highly ranked running back in high school. Clark chose South Carolina over other potential landing spots in the portal. He is a strong pickup for head coach Shane Beamer and new offensive coordinator Kendal Briles as they reshape the Gamecocks’ ground game. Briles was hired in December 2025 to spearhead a revamped offensive staff.
What Clark Brings to South Carolina
Clark’s arrival comes as part of a broader Transfer Portal strategy that includes additions like Ohio State transfer Sam Williams-Dixon and Penn State’s Jabree Coleman, giving South Carolina a refreshed and more experienced backfield heading into the 2026 season.
Clark brings a blend of physicality, pass-catching ability especially in the backfield, and the durability questions that he’s worked to overcome. Clark possesses traits that could make him a focal point of South Carolina’s rushing attack early in the season. The Gamecocks struggled to generate consistent production on the ground in 2025, making this and other portal commitments critical to their offensive evolution.
