The South Carolina football team is entering a bye week in mid-October. But as the college football season continues on, we are officially roughly six months out from the 2027 NFL Draft, which will be held in Washington, D.C.
As the college football season is nearly halfway done, all 32 teams are likely locked into future prospects they hope to draft next April. Let's take a look at some of the latest mock drafts, and see where star EDGE rusher Dylan Stewart lands.
Dylan Stewart's spot in latest mock drafts
Last week was a big one for Stewart. Against Florida, it was his first game back from his suspension after punching Alabama player Josh Ford. Versus the Gators, he finally looked like his old dominant self, accounting for five total tackles with four solo, including a sack and two forced fumbles.
While there was questions about how his suspension might affect his draft stock, it appears as though it hasn't affected it too much.
According to Bleacher Report's latest mock draft via Brent Sobleski, Stewart is projected to go No. 6 overall to the Arizona Cardinals. While Sobleski admits Arizona is also likely to consider drafting a quarterback in the Top-10, Stewart "provides an elite talent at a different premium position." Stewart would join a Cardinal defense that includes EDGE rushers Josh Sweat and Darius Robinson.
The Sporting News' Vinnie Iyer has him in a similar spot, going No. 7 overall to the New Orleans Saints.
"The Saints need to keep working on improving their pass rush for Brandon Staley," Iyer writes. "Stewart brings that physicality and power outside they have coveted for a long time in 6-4, 287-pounder Cameron Jordan."
Pro Football Focus has Stewart as the lowest of the three outlets, but still has him going inside the Top-10. PFF likes Stewart to land at No. 10 overall to the Philadelphia Eagles. Gordon McGuinness writes that although the Eagles appear likely to take an offensive lineman with the Cam Jurgens trade and Lane Johnson retirement, a top defensive prospect falling in the Eagles' lap seems entirely plausible.
The possibility of Stewart landing in Philly might be the most intriguing of all. He'd join a loaded defensive line that already features Jalen Carter, nose tackle Jordan Davis and linebackers Jihaad Campbell and Zach Baun.
If Stewart continues to play like he did against Florida, he could vault even further up NFL Draft boards.
