South Carolina finished the regular season on a six-game win streak with hopes of it being enough to punch their ticket to the College Football Playoff. However, instead, they were snubbed from the playoff, but not all hope was lost as they were selected as the top SEC team to play in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on New Year's Eve, which is today.

The Gamecocks are set to take on a 9-3 Illinois team that finished ranked No. 20 after another strong season under Bret Bielema.

Shane Beamer and his squad will be down a few players today due to injury and op-outs for the NFL Draft, but they are as motivated as ever to get their 10th win of the season for just the fifth time in program history. Gamecocks fans are hoping to see Beamer dunked not by Gatorade but with a bucket of Cheez-Its at the end of the game, signaling a South Carolina win.
