FINALLY! The Gamecocks have an answer, and South Carolina's running back room just got a major boost. The NCAA has approved a waiver for transfer Rahsul Faison, making him immediately eligible to play football for the season.
Faison, who transferred to South Carolina from Utah State, had been awaiting the decision for months while the university worked to secure his eligibility.
The news is a huge development for head coach Shane Beamer's program, which has been looking to solidify depth in the backfield heading into the 2025 season. Faison's combination of speed and physicality gives South Carolina another proven playmaker to complement its offensice attack.
The Gamecock Football social media team put out a short video of Faison's jersey being hung in his locker shortly after the announcement, and it was everything Gamecock Nation has waited for.

With the waiver approved, Gamecock fans can now look forward to seeing No. 1 in garnet and black when South Carolina takes the field at Merecedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the season opener against Viginia Tech on August 31.
