The final day of the spring transfer portal window had some last-minute movement from South Carolina with a pair of familiar names. Linebacker Ronnie Porter and defensive tackle Rondarius Porter, brothers who began their collegiate career as Gamecocks, announced they are both entering the transfer portal.

Both brothers were walk-ons at South Carolina, coming from Heathwood Hall. Ronnie joined the Gamecocks in 2021 and worked his way to receiving a scholarship before last season. He played on special teams in all 13 games in 2023.

His brother, Rondarius graduated Heathwood Hall in 2022, but started at Lenior-Rhyne, where he played in eight games as a freshman. He later transferred to Newberry College and redshirted before transferring to South Carolina in January of 2024. He appeared in eight games with the Gamecocks as part of the defensive line rotation.

In their announcements about their intentions to enter the transfer portal, each brother shared their gratitude for their time in garnet and black.

Ronnie shared:
"After much prayer and reflection, I've decided to enter the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining. I just want to say thank you to the whole coaching staff and the University of South Carolina for an amazing four years. I wouldn't trade any of my experience here for the world. Thank you to my teammates for becoming my family and the entire Gamecock Family for a life changing experience. I am looking forward to what is in store for me next."

Rondarius added:
"After much prayer and reflection, I've decided to enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. Thank you South Carolina. I'm excited for what's next."

Both Porter brothers are hard-working players, and Gamecock Nation wishes them nothing but the best in the next chapter of their careers.
