Texas A&M loses their star running back against South Carolina after gruesome knee injury
First things first, let's hope that Le'Veon Moss is okay because of the hit he took from South Carolina defensive back DQ Smith as he was running down the sideline. When seeing the hit on replay, Moss's knee took the brunt end of the hit, and trainers immediately rushed to Moss on the sideline.
Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed had scrambled on the play to keep it alive and found Moss on the sideline, who took off for 10 yards before Smith came in and delivered the hit.
The game went into a commercial break for an injury timeout, but after it returned, it was announced that Moss had a right knee injury and had to be helped to the medical tent.
It was also seen after the offensive drive where the Aggies had to settle for three points, many Texas A&M players, including quarterback Reed, were going into the tent to check off Moss. This running game is now in the hands of backup running backs Amari Daniels and E.J. Smith.
This is a big loss for the Aggies as Moss is the third leading rusher in the SEC with 757 rushing yards on 119 carries and ten touchdowns on the season. It has yet to be announced whether or not Moss will return to the game, but due to the violent nature of the injury, Moss is probably done for the day, and his season could possibly be in jeopardy as well.
This will allow the Gamecocks to fill the box more to put pressure on Reed or even rush just four to give the secondary help against the Texas A&M receivers.
At the time this story was written, the Gamecocks led the Aggies 14-3 in the second quarter, with LaNorris Sellers turning the ball over to Texas A&M in their own territory. South Carolina started the game hot with a touchdown drive and then a turnover on downs that gave the Gamecocks great field position to give them a short field to score on.
