The South Carolina Gamecocks are gearing up for a Saturday showdown against the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers. The good news for South Carolina fans is that the initial injury report for the Gamecocks appears to be positive.

In South Carolina's initial student-athlete availability report released on Wednesday evening, the Gamecocks have just a couple players on the report. Starting center Carter Miller, who missed the Florida game two weeks ago, is listed as questionable.

Starting defensive back Quay'Sheed Scott, who left the Kentucky game a few weeks ago, is listed as doubtful.

All the other previous guys included in the injury report ahead of Florida including EDGE walker Julian Walker and defensive tackle Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy are not included on South Carolina's injury report, meaning they are good to go.

This matches what head coach Shane Beamer said about his team earlier this week, indicating that the bye week allowed his players to get healthy and recover.

Tennessee's Josh Heupel says South Carolina's run defense presents a challenge for Vols

Hopefully Miller can be healthy at center for Saturday. He missed the Florida game with injury, and the Gamecocks allowed three sacks on the day.

From Tennessee's side of things, the Vols do not have any additional guys listed on the report outside of ones that have previously been out earlier this season. That means that Tennessee could potentially play two quarterbacks, as head coach Josh Heupel has played George MacIntyre in recent weeks. But true freshman signal caller Faizon Brandon started the season for the Vols.

South Carolina is looking to continue the positive momentum going from the Gamecocks' 38-19 upset victory over the Florida Gators. Tennessee, meanwhile, is coming off of a 26-10 dominating upset over the Alabama Crimson Tide. Tennessee has just one loss on the season so far, falling 20-17 to Texas at home in Week 4.

We'll see if the injury report changes at all for South Carolina as the week goes on. As part of the weekly player availability reports in the SEC, teams are required to submit updated reports on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at 8:10 p.m. ET.

The final game day injury report is released on the day of the actual game about 90 minutes before kickoff.

Saturday's game between the Vols and Gamecocks will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET and air live on ESPN.
