South Carolina Gamecock sophomore guard MiLaysia Fulwiley earned the SEC's Sixth Woman of the Year award after a standout season, averaging 11.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1. 5 steals, and 0.7 blocks. Known for her defensive skills, Fulwiley has emerged this season as a game-changer, proving her recent gameplay as vital to the Gamecocks SEC Championship title. Fulwiley was also named to the All-SEC second team by scoring double figures in 13-of-16 games since the beginning of 2025.
In addition to Fuwiley's recognition, two other Gamecocks earned SEC honors: Joyce Edwards and Te-Hina Paopao. Edwards, a true freshman, has emerged this season as a star on the court and was named to the first team. She is only the third freshman to be awarded this honor, following in the footsteps of Gamecock legends Aliyah Boston and A'ja Wilson. Edwards finished the regular season averaging 13 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.6 blocks per games. Edwards also secured a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team.
Senior guard Te-Hina Paopao earned second-team honors after expanding her game this season with improved defensive play and higher scoring inside the arc. She is averaging 10.2 points, 3 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game this season.
In addition to these phenomenal young athletes, senior forward Sania Feagin and redshirt junior guard Raven Johnson were both named to the SEC All-Defensive team for their standout performances on defense.
This star-studded team will head to Greenville this week for the SEC Tournament. South Carolina will enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed after a controversial coin flip decision. The first game is set for Friday, March 7th at noon, where they will face either Texas A&M, Tennessee, or Vanderbilt.
With multiple Lady Gamecocks earning SEC honors as the team enters the tournament as the top seed, South Carolina is poised for a strong postseason run.
