It's a busy time for South Carolina Gamecocks athletics this fall, as the Gamecocks volleyball season is in full swing. The Gamecocks are having a great start to their 2026 season so far. Through South Carolina's first two games, the Lady Gamecocks are undefeated, sitting at 2-0.

The Gamecocks notched a pair of 3-0 wins over the likes of UNC Greenville and Northeastern, hosting both games at home as part of the Gamecock Classic.

Now, South Carolina gets a big test, as it has to go on the road to face the Michigan Wolverines this week. As part of the SEC/Big Ten Challenge, the Gamecocks will face the Wolverines in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, Sept. 1. South Carolina then faces fellow Michigan team Michigan State on Sept. 2. The tournament is part of the inaugural Big Ten-SEC Challenge.

The tournament includes all 34 teams across the two conferences, and will be hosted at various SEC and Big Ten venues. The Gamecocks will be playing both games against the Michigan teams at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.

In an even cooler part of the tournament, four teams will play a volleyball match at Wrigley Field in Chicago for the first time in the sport's history. On Sept. 6, the home of the Chicago Cubs will host Nebraska vs. Missouri and Kentucky vs. Penn State to conclude the tournament. Women's college volleyball has seen a lot of growth in recent years, and the Big Ten and SEC produce some powerhouse programs.

Following South Carolina's two games in Michigan, the Gamecocks return back home to host Troy on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Gamecocks are led by second-year head coach Sarah Rumely Noble, who is joined by associate head coach Connor Zimmick.

South Carolina's roster is full of returning players in  Sydney Davis, Sydney Floyd, Ava Leahy, Anne Bradley Bing and Claire Payne. The Gamecocks also added a few pieces from the transfer portal this offseason, including Ceci Vance from Arizona State, Ally Cavanaugh from USF and Lilly Gillespie from Cincinnati.
