The South Carolina Gamecocks will be laser-focused on beating Kent State on Saturday to start the season 1-0. But every Gamecock home game is also a big recruiting opportunity for head coach Shane Beamer and his staff.

For the Gamecocks home opener against the Kent State Flashes, there will be several current South Carolina verbal commits and targets that will be on-hand.

Among the list of visitors that have confirmed on their social media pages that they will be on-hand on Saturday include one of South Carolina's biggest recruits in its 2027 class in five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson. Dobson is the highest-rated recruit in the Gamecocks' 2027 class, and he confirmed he will be at Williams-Brice for South Carolina's opener:

Dobson put South Carolina's 2027 class on the map when he committed to the Gamecocks in early July.

Other 2027 verbal commits that have confirmed they will be in Columbia include four-star receiver Iveon Lewis, offensive tackle Nate Carson and cornerback Kelvin Millington. Three-stars in defensive end Jayden Broadie and receiver DJ Huggins will also be on South Carolina's campus.

As far as targets go, Alpharetta offensive lineman Calvin Landry will be in attendance. He plays out of Alpharetta High School, and has offers from the likes of Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Georgia Tech.

Also on the list are big-time 2028 targets in EDGE rusher Cassell Cruickshank, as well as receiver Zyon Robinson. Cruickshank is a five-star out of Fayetteville, N.C. Robinson is a four-star receiver from Powder Springs, Ga., listed as the No. 16 overall player out of Georgia and the No. 19 receiver for 2028.

Cruickshank is the No. 1 recruit out of his home state of North Carolina, which has been a great recruiting state for South Carolina historically. Of course, these are the commits that have so far publicly confirmed they will be on-hand. There are likely a few other verbal commits as well as Gamecock targets from 2027 and 2028 that will attend.

Several members that will go to the game were part of a strong recruiting run Coach Beamer had over the summer. The Gamecocks particularly heated up during the month of July, landing Dobson, as well as four-star safety Davion Jones, who is Dobson's teammate at Hough High School. In July, South Carolina also landed Carson. The Gamecocks also flipped Lewis from Kentucky, and successfully held off Virginia Tech for Millington.

South Carolina's 2027 class is rated 30th overall in the country, and checks in 12th overall in the 247Sports Composite. The Gamecocks' 2028 class, that includes wide receiver Joseph "Jett" Gibbs and receiver Jhamari Cain.

South Carolina's big-time visitor list is just the start of a big recruiting season for Coach Beamer and his staff.
