South Carolina was without some of their top players against Wofford this past weekend, but that didn't stop them from trouncing the FCS team 56-12. A big contributor in that win, especially with so many pass catchers out, was Dalevon Campbell.

The Gamecocks were without tight ends Joshua Simon, Michael Smith, and Brady Hunt on Saturday, as well as wide receiver Jared Brown. When it came to quarterback LaNorris had few options to throw the ball to and Campbell was one of his top picks against the Terriers.

Against Wofford, Campbell had five receptions for 120 yards, one that went as long as 58 yards. Against Missouri, he was also one of the tops with two receptions for 86 yards, one of them being towards the end of the game that set the Gamecocks up for their go-ahead touchdown that ended up winning the game.

In Week 13, Campbell was one of the best receivers in college football, and he was the highest-graded wide receiver by PFF with a 91.5 rating.

As the Gamecocks get ready to head into their matchup against Clemson, a game where they are uncertain about the status of tight ends Smith and Simon as well as wide receiver Brown, Campbell stepping up is a great sign.

South Carolina obviously has a great rushing attack with Raheim "Rocket" Sanders at running back, as well as Sellers using his legs when he needs to, but the passing attack has really come into form over the past few games.

Campbell could be a top target for Sellers against Clemson if he can perform the way he has in the past couple of games, it could give the Gamecocks an edge, especially with the way Sellars has been playing lately.
