The South Carolina Gamecocks, like the rest of the college football world, might be in the heart of the offseason. But there is one big thing that college football fans are eagerly awaiting as the calendar turns to July—EA Sports' new College Football 2027 video game.
The game is set for a July 9 release, and ahead of that the folks at EA Sports released its rankings for the toughest places to play. Included on their list of 20 stadiums was South Carolina's Williams-Brice Stadium. EA Sports ranked the venue as the 14th toughest place to play in the country, right in front of Washington's Husky Stadium at 15th, and one spot behind at 14th. Here's the full list, via EA Sports:

South Carolina being ranked pretty high on this list is not all that surprising, The Gamecocks boast one of the best home field advantages in the country, highlighted by the South Carolina team coming out as fans sing along with "Sandstorm" by Darude.
Last offseason, On3Sports ranked Williams-Brice as the third loudest stadium in the country.
Although last season's 4-8 year in Columbia was a disappointment, there is plenty of optimism surrounding South Carolina football entering the 2026 season. Returning are star players in quarterback LaNorris Sellers, wide receiver Nyck Harbor, running back Matt Fuller and EDGE rusher Dylan Stewart. The Gamecocks also got some major help from the transfer portal this offseason, adding big-time offensive tackle Jacarrius Peak and running back Christian Clark.
Sixth-year head coach Shane Beamer also hired new offensive staffers, including offensive coordinator Kendal Briles from TCU, who brought along with him running backs coach Stan Drayton and offensive line coach Randy Clements.
It's clear that South Carolina fans are eager to pack Williams-Brice once again in 2026. The Gamecocks will open the 2026 season at home against Kent State on Sept. 5, with kickoff set for 12:45 p.m. ET. The season opener will air live on SEC Network.
Williams-Brice was first opened in 1934, and today it has a capacity of 77,559 fans. The Gamecocks have a 302-199-14 record at home.
