South Carolina wide receiver Nyck Harbor is aiming for greatness as the 2025-26 college football season nears. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound track-star-turned-football-giant declared on the As I Sip My Coffee podcast earlier this month that he is coming for a monster season.

“I’m not really gonna put a number on it, but just know I’m gonna pop it off,” Harbor said on the podcast. “Whatever you’ve seen last year, I’m gonna really pop it off this year. So,if I’m up there with the Biletnikoff Award finalists? Hey, I said it first.”

And it's not just him talking, he's taking it personal. Harbor had a breakout game against Missouri last season, hauling in two catches for 69 yards and a touchdown. And that is when things changed.

“That’s when I clicked into Nyckoles Harbor,” he said. “And you started to see what this dude can become with the targets he gets.” And that's exactly what happened from then on. Harbor had 272 yards and two touchdowns in his final five games. He finished as South Carolina's second-leading receiver with a 26-376-3 stat line. He also led all wideouts in snaps with 627 and started 8 out of 13 games.

Not bad for a player who switched to the wide receiver position after high school. Harbor was a five-star recruit and the No. 1 athlete in the class of 2023, signing with South Carolina to play football and run track. In 2024, he became a second-team All-American in track, qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Trials.

But this year, he is solely focused on football. Harbor skipped his indoor and outdoor track seasons to devote himself to the gridiron, and as he put it, "the best receiver in college football."

And if you had any doubt, EA Spors already gave Harbor a 99-speed rating in last year's College Football 25 video game. And he is ready to continue to live up to the hype.

You can watch the entire interview of Nyck Harbor on the June 13 episode of As I Sip My Coffee, a podcast hosted by former South Carolina football player Syvelle Newton, produced by 1801 Media, here.
