South Carolina running back Sam Williams-Dixon was arrested on Saturday. According to multiple reports, the Gamecock running back, who transferred to Columbia in January 2026, was arrested and charged over the weekend.

Per the arrest report, Williams-Dixon is facing three counts of larceny/breaking into motor vehicles, three counts of criminal conspiracy, and one count of grand larceny. The value listed was more than $2,000 but less than $10,000.

On Sunday following the news of his arrest breaking, a South Carolina football spokesperson issued a statement to Greenville Online that the running back was suspended from the program indefinitely.

“We are aware of the situation and per athletic department policy, he is suspended indefinitely," the South Carolina athletic department spokesman told the newspaper in a statement.

Williams-Dixon transferred into the program this winter after spending the first two seasons of his career at Ohio State. The Pickerington, Ohio native is a redshirt junior who had 10 carries for just 62 yards during his Buckeye career over two seasons. Coming out of high school, Williams-Dixon was a three-star recruit from the class of 2024, and was rated No. 24 overall coming out of Ohio per the 247Sports Composite.

Per the public booking records, the running back was booked at Midnight ET on Sunday morning. The running back has a hearing scheduled for Aug. 28 per Gamecock Central, with a bond hearing expected for sometime on Sunday, although it is unclear if that has occurred at this time.  It is unclear if Williams-Dixon will reman with the South Carolina program moving forward, but he did participate in spring and winter workouts with the Gamecocks.

This is a breaking news story that will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
