South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers is mostly known for what he does on the football field, and as a student-athlete, he is also expected to take classes on campus in Columbia. But as a senior, Sellers' lone class he has to take during the fall semester sounds like a dream for most golf aficionados.

Sellers told reporters that his only class requirement he has to fill in order to graduate in December is an internship at a golf center. According to Gamecock 247, Sellers is taking an internship at The Par Tee Golf Center this fall, located in West Columbia.

"Just facility management and stuff like that, cutting grass and picking up balls like that," Sellers told the outlet.

According to The Par Tee's website, the club offers a driving range, par three course, a miniature golf course, lessons, as well as custom club fittings and gripping. It has been in business for nearly 30 years.

Speaking of facility management, Sellers also took an internship with Contract Construction, which most recently worked with Williams-Brice Stadium on its $350 million renovation project. Obviously Sellers is expecting to be a high draft pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, followed by a long career in the league. But while he is taking classes at South Carolina, he is also thinking about his life after football.

"I sat in with a lot of those meetings at the stadium, the group out of Oklahoma that they gave the job to build the stadium, do the design and all that, I met with them," Sellers said via Gamecocks247 of his construction internship. "I pretty much knew what was going on over there before a lot of people did."

As a projected first-rounder already for the 2027 NFL Draft, Sellers likely will not have to worry about finding a job outside of football just yet. But it's refreshing to hear the signal-caller even thinking about it while he is still in college.

The quarterback is projected to have one of his best seasons yet at South Carolina in 2026. Across his two seasons in Columbia, he has thrown for 5,057 yards with 33 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He had his best season running the football in 2024, getting 674 yards on 166 carries with seven touchdowns. Last season, he regressed quite a bit, taking a career-high 42 sacks and getting just 274 rush yards.

But entering the 2026 season, there is plenty of optimism surrounding Sellers and the Gamecock offense. Head coach Shane Beamer hired new offensive coordinator Kendal Briles this offseason, in a system where Sellers is expected to thrive. A re-tooled offensive line, featuring star offensive tackle Jacarrius Peak from NC State, leads the group.

Sellers' one class being a golf internship should make fans even more excited about what he can do on the field without a heavy course load.
