South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers has perfect mindset for huge game vs. Clemson
When it comes to any sport, it is very easy to let the bright lights get to you or let the moment get bigger than it should be. For young players, it becomes even easier for that to happen, but for South Carolina redshirt freshman quarterback LaNorris Sellers, he is doing everything he can to make sure that doesn't happen.
South Carolina has played in a lot of big games this season, when you count it, they have played in six big games if you say the ranked ones were all the big ones. The Gamecocks unfortunately lost three, but they also won three, and now they are set for their seventh big game this season, adn truly this one is the biggest.
The game against Clemson is not just big because it is a ranked matchup of No. 15 vs. No. 12, but because this is for all the bragging rights of the state with a rivalry game. For Sellers though, he is preparing for this one like it is just any other game.
Sellers has been playing lights out during the Gamecock's five-game win streak with 1,417 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and just two interceptions, as well as 270 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The young quarterback has been a big reason for the Gamecock's success, and if it wasn't for an injury during the season, his numbers could be much higher.
The Gamecocks so have a big game this weekend against No. 12 Clemson, but acting like this isn't the biggest game of the season and could be the reason South Carolina does or doesn't make the College Football Playoff is smart. This has to just be another game for South Carolina because if they go in with all the pressure in the world on their shoulders, it could cause them to crack.
If anything, the Gamecocks need to go in with the fire of playing in a rivalry game and let that be their only thought. This is just another game, actually, the last game of the regular season. Going out and playing till the clock hits zero is all the Gamecocks need to do.
