It's only been a couple of weeks since South Carolina star Collin Murray-Boyles declared for the Draft, and he is already drawing attention and climbing draft boards.
Though he still has until June 15 to decide whether to remain in the Draft or return to the Gamecock roster, most signs point to him continuing forward with his professional future. His draft stock has been rapidly rising, and this week, On3's James Fletcher ranked him as the No. 1 power forward in the entire NBA Draft Class.
Murray-Boyles has the draft scouts buzzing with his defensive prowess and natural athleticism. Fletcher praised the former Gamecock on his ability to guard multiple positions with quickness, referring to him as a "projectable player," especially if his offensive game continues to evolve.
“He must develop his offensive game into a more professional style to make the most of his skillset,” Fletcher noted. “But he promises to fit into many NBA schemes.”
As a freshman at South Carolina, Murray-Boyles averaged 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game, leading the SEC in field goal percentages. He was the only player in the country to average at least 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and one block while still shooting over 55% from the field. That kind of production on the court, combined with elite defense, is why many mock drafts have him projected as a top lottery pick.
The 2025 NBA Draft will take place on June 25-26.
