The South Carolina Gamecocks received a major boost heading into Saturday's SEC clash at Missouri: quarterback LaNorris Sellers has been cleared to play. The news comes after a week of speculation surroundig Sellers' availability, and it provides a surge of optimism for a Gamecock offense looking to rebound from last weekend's struggles against Vanderbilt.

Friday's official SEC injury report also listed tight end Michael Smith and cornerback Judge Collier as out for the game, while defensive back DQ Smith and freshman wide receiver Mazeo Bennett Jr. were both designated as probable. That clears the way for Sellers, whose presence under center could be the deciding factor against a strong Tigers defense in Columbia, Missouri.

Alongside the injury report, South Carolina Football also announced its captains for the Missouri game: defensive back Peyton Williams, wide receiver Nyck Harbor, tight end Brady Hunt, and defensive lineman Nick Barrett. The leadership in this group reflects both experience and emerging talent, with Harbor in particular carrying the spotlight as the young star on the rise.

With Sellers back at the helm of the South Carolina squad, along with four captains set to lead the charge, the Gamecocks will look to flip the script and grab a crucial SEC road win. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. EST on ESPN.
