South Carolina has been very active in the transfer portal in the past few days, and they have been very active talking with players from SEC rival schools. The Gamecocks have already landed Jaylen Brown out of Missouri and Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy out of Texas A&M.
The Gamecocks have bolstered their defense with both of these additions, but they just added a tight end from yet another SEC rival that should help build up their already elite offense.
South Carolina just landed tight end Jordan Dingle out of Kentucky to add to a tight end room that really took a hit from the transfer portal.
A former three-star high school recruit out of Kentucky, Dingle brings four years of college experience to the Gamecocks at just the right time. South Carolina has already lost Connor Cox, Reid Mikeska, and Nick Elksnis to the portal and star tight end, who was also the receiving yards leader for South Carolina, Joshua Simon to the NFL.
Dingle, in four years at Kentucky, played in 39 games compiling 43 catches for 615 yards and four touchdowns. His 2022 season was his best when he had 20 receptions for 220 yards adn three touchdowns, although he did have more yards in 2023, but no touchdowns.
The numbers make it seem as though Dingle may not be as big of a star as imagined, but Kentucky also didn't have the most impressive offense, especially in years past. Dingle will join quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who everyone knows can sling the ball with the best of them in the SEC.
South Carolina is practically having their pick of players in the transfer portal, especially from sEC schools. The fact that Beamer can get guys to come and join a rival shows a lot about his recruiting skills.
