For the first time in program history, the No. 8 seed South Carolina softball team will host an NCAA Super Regional at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field in Columbia. The series will be played against the UCLA Bruins, beginning Friday, May 23, at 1 p.m., Game 2 on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Game 3 on Sunday, if necessary. This marks South Carolina's third Super Regional appearance and their first since 2018.
The Gamecocks, who are 43-15, advanced to the Super Regionals by sweeping at the Columbia Regional, including a dominant 8-0 run-rule victory over North Florida in five innings. UCLA (52-10) is the No. 9 national seed, earning their spot by defeating UC Santa Barbara 12-1 in the Los Angeles Regional final. The Bruins had a strong pitching performance from Taylor Tinsley and showcased their offensive power with multiple home runs.
Tickets for the Columbia Super Regional go on sale to the general public on Tuesday at 10 a.m. All-session booklets are available for $55, while single tickets are on sale for $22 for adults and $17 for children.
The winner of this NCAA Super Regional will advance to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, which is scheduled for May29 to June 6.
