The South Carolina Gamecocks have secured a significant addition to their backfield with the commitment of running back Rahsul Faison from Utah State.
Standing at 6 feet and weighing 200 pounds, Faison delivered an impressive performance during the 2024 season at Utah State. He accumulated 1,109 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 198 carries, showcasing his ability to consistently produce and break tackles.
Faison’s collegiate journey has been diverse. Originating from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, he began at Lackawanna Community College in 2020, then transferred to Marshall University for the 2021 season, followed by a year at Snow College in 2022, before his tenure at Utah State.
His decision to join South Carolina comes after visits to several prominent programs, including Alabama, Florida State, North Carolina, and Utah. His commitment reflects the Gamecocks’ proactive approach under head coach Shane Beamer to enhance the team’s roster through experienced transfers.
Faison’s arrival is timely for South Carolina, especially following the departure of key running backs. His versatility and proven track record are expected to make an immediate impact in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), providing the Gamecocks with a dynamic offensive weapon for the upcoming season.
As the Gamecocks prepare for the 2025 season, Faison’s addition is anticipated to play a pivotal role in the team’s offensive strategies, aiming to elevate their performance within the highly competitive SEC landscape.
