SEC club hockey is officially back! Earlier in July, the Southeast Conference, in partnership with ACC Hockey, announced that the South Carolina Gamecocks hockey team will join the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) in a new Division 2 club hockey conference. They will be joining some familiar foes as the 2024 AAU Division 1 National Champions look to make some noise in the ACHA for the 2025-26 season.
They will be joining with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, and the Tennessee Volunteers. It's an exciting time for club college hockey in the south as big SEC schools will be part of the new SEC Conference in Division 2 ACHA hockey, along with the help of the ACC, which has been a strong member in the club college hockey scene. By joining the SEC, the Gamecocks club hockey team looks to take its game to another level, especially in the state of South Carolina.

They will be joining the ACHA, which has over 450+ club hockey teams across the U.S. with multiple men's and women's hockey divisions. The Gamecocks play out at the Flight Adventure Park in Irmo, SC, where they get ice time to host club hockey games, which will now include Division 2 ACHA hockey. If fans cannot make their games in person, they stream games on their website.
The club was established in 2001 and is going into its 24th season as a group with its aspirations at an all-time high. It's always an electric atmosphere seeing Gamecocks hockey in person, and to see it at the club hockey level is another experience in and of itself. It should be an exciting 2025-26 season for the Gamecocks as they will participate in helping grow southern hockey in the SEC Conference within the ACHA Division 2 level. Is it hockey season yet?
