South Carolina is back at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday for more than just a football game. The Gamecocks will host in-state foe Coastal Caolina in their annual Salute the Troops matchup, a late-season nonconference game that doubles as Senior Day and the first of two straight home games against in-state programs to close the 2025 season. South Carolina enters the matchup 3-7, while Coastal Carolina comes in at 6-4 and third in the Sun Belt. Between the pregame senior ceremony, a stadium-wide military tribute, and a holiday toy drive, there is a lot happening aroud this one before the ball is even kicked.

Here is everything fans attending the game need to know:

How to watch South Carolina vs. Coastal Carolina

  • Matchup: South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
  • Date: Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025
  • Kickoff: 4:20 p.m. ET
  • Location: Williams–Brice Stadium, Columbia, S.C.

South Carolina has dominated the brief series between the two programs, winning 70-10 in 2023 and 49-15 in 2018 when the teams last met.

Senior Day

The Gamecocks will honor this year's senior class approximately 30 minutes prior to kickoff, so arrive early. Fans who want to be in their seats for player introductions should plan to be in the stadium before 4 p.m. ET.

Salute the Troops halftime show

The heart of the day is the Salute the Troops halftime program. Of course, fans will be encouraged to stay in their seats at halftime for a full on-field tribute. South Carolina will honor active-duty service members, veterans and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice as part of the annual show.

Toy Drive in Gamecock Village

The university is also tying gameday into the holidays with a toy drive in Gamecock Village. If you want to give, here's exactly how:

  • Who’s running it: University of South Carolina Student Veterans Association
  • Where: Student Veterans Association tent inside Gamecock Village
  • What to bring: New, unwrapped toys to be donated to local youth
  • When: 11:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. ET only
  • Important: Donations will not be collected at the stadium gates, so fans will have to drop items inside Gamecock Village during the listed window prior to the game.

Gamecock Village & Gamecock Walk timeline

Like every other home game, the university is leaning into the pregame festivities and game day vibe. Here where you need to be for the Gamecock Walk and all the fun:

Gamecock Village

  • Opens at 11:45 a.m. ET
  • Features live music, inflatable attractions for kids, and food and drink for purchase.

Digital ticketing help:

  • As South Carolina is transitioning to a fully digital ticketing model starting in fall 2026, there will be digital ticketing assistance tents both in Gamecock Village and in front of the Bignon Gameday Center for fans who still need help managing mobile tickets.

Gamecock Walk:

  • Fans are encouraged to head to Tommy Suggs Garnet Way after time in the Village.
  • The team is expected to arrive around 2:15 p.m. ET for Gamecock Walk, led by Cocky, the drumline, and the spirit teams.

Final Word

South Carolina badly needs a feel-good afternoon after letting a historic upset slip away at No. 3 Texas A&M. Coastal arrives with a 6-4 record and one of the more efficient Sun Belt offenses. For Shane Beamer and the coaching staff, this isn't just a salute, a ceremony, and a toy drive. It's one of only two chances left to send the Gamecock seniors out with a win at home and reset the mood in Columbia. Forever to Thee!
