South Carolina Gamecock fans have finally made it to game week after a long offseason.
Before the Gamecocks open their 2026 season against Kent State on Saturday, it's time to take a look at what the Las Vegas oddsmakers think of South Carolina's season outlook.
There are a few ways to gauge that. For starters, we'll see what the Gamecocks odds are to make the College Football Playoff, which has never been done in South Carolina history. We'll also look at odds for South Carolina to make and win the SEC Championship Game. We will also look at win total projections.

South Carolina win total odds
- Over 5.5: (-200)
- Under 5.5: (+164)
- Over 6.5: (+110)
- Under 6.5: (-130)
- Over 7.5: (+250)
- Under 7.5: (-310)
- 6+ wins: (-220)
- 10+ wins: (+575)
- 12 wins: (+5000)
- Over 6.5: (+1100)
- Under 6.5: (-135)
As you can see, there are a couple takeaways here. For one, Las Vegas thinks that the Gamecocks are much more likely to make the 12-team CFP than making it to the SEC Championship. Given that South Carolina has a gauntlet of a conference schedule, featuring games against Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Georgia, that sounds about right.
As for win totals, South Carolina reaching six-seven wins seems to be the baseline for the Vegas oddsmakers. Coach Beamer likely has to make a bowl game for his tenure to continue in Columbia, so this going 6-5 or 7-4 would do so.
South Carolina is expected to have a bounceback season after a 4-8 year, especially with the coaching staff changes and roster additions Coach Beamer had this offseason. But the Gamecocks have to navigate a tough schedule, which is why most projections have South Carolina reaching somewhere between six and seven wins.
No one has a crystal ball, not even the oddsmakers. But taking a look at these at least gives us an idea of how the markets think the season could pan out.
