The South Carolina Gamecocks are in do-or-die mode under Shane Beamer in 2026. Following a 4-8 season in 2025, South Carolina is looking to rebound in a big way for the upcoming season and beyond.
A big part of that includes doing well on the recruiting trail. Over the weekend, Beamer and the Gamecocks added to its 2027 recruiting class. On Friday evening, Jaiden Kelly-Murray, a 247Sports' four-star receiver out of Mount Pleasant, S.C.. Murray-Kelly is the No. 35 overall receiver from 2027, and is the No. 6 ranked prospect out of South Carolina who plays out of Oceanside Collegiate Academy. He started his high school career at Summerville High School.
He committed to the Gamecocks' 2027 class after taking an unofficial visit to South Carolina earlier this month. He chose South Carolina despite holding offers from the likes of Duke, Georgia Tech, Florida State, UNC, Wake Forest and several other schools. Kelly-Murray confirmed his verbal commitment on both X and Instagram:

With his commitment, South Carolina now has three members in its 2027 class. Kelly-Murray joins safety Jernard Albright and cornerback Aamaury Fountain, who committed in December and January, respectively.
To Gamecocks fans: The guy who just committed to @CoachSBeamer while he was sitting in Charleston traffic, Jaiden Kelly-Murray, is really, really good.

South Carolina's 2027 class ranks 29th nationally per 247Sports and checks in eighth in the SEC, currently ahead of Alabama, LSU and Missouri.
“I’ve been going to since my eighth-grade year,” Kelly-Murray said of South Carolina in January, per Rivals. “They offered me early and I’ve been there over 10 times. Coach Beamer is building something there and I am very comfortable around the people. They are very high on my list.”
Over two seasons tracked by MaxPreps, Kelly-Murray accounted for 145 receptions for 2,159 yards with 27 touchdowns. Congrats to Beamer and company on landing a big-time receiver!
