The South Carolina Gamecocks are busy on the recruiting trail, both for the class of 2027 and beyond. The Gamecocks are hosting football camps in Columbia all month, and offering prospects who attend those camps.

One of those prospects is 2028 quarterback Chandler Dyson. The signal-caller is a highly-touted prospect, already rated by the 247Sports Sports Composite. The outlet ranks the four-star Dyson as the No. 12 overall quarterback from the class of 2028, and the No. 12 overall prospect out of his home state of Georgia.

Dyson plays high school football out of big-time Warner Robbins High School. He attended one of Coach Beamer's camps this past weekend, and posted about receiving his offer from the Gamecocks on X. Also included in his post was a photo of him and new South Carolina offensive coordinator Kendal Briles, who Shane Beamer hired this offseason:

South Carolina is far from the only program to have offered the talented Georgia signal-caller. The quarterback holds offers from a number of different power schools, including Florida State, Georgia Tech, LSU, North Carolina, Ole Miss and Syracuse, among others.

According to his 247Sports page, he threw 147 completions for 2,138 yards with 16 touchdowns, adding another 536 rush yards and four touchdowns. As a dual-threat quarterback, he would certainly fit in nicely in Columbia. The Gamecocks will likely have to replace star quarterback LaNorris Sellers after next season, as he is expected to declare for the 2027 NFL draft as a highly-touted pick.

It's obviously still pretty early in Dyson's recruitment, but good for South Carolina on getting an offer to him while he was on-campus. The Gamecocks' 2028 class does not currently have any verbal commitments at this time.
